My grandparents, the Brussos, had a winery that was closed in 1967 and the land (adjacent to the Burbank airport) is now a parking lot.

»Hi Adam, I think the point of this site IS to discuss specific sites! That is not to say all attention is focused on the Sparkletts building. Maybe I didn't understand what your comment meant. Most of us who interested in historic preservation DO look at the big picture. At the same time we find the place that speaks to us the most and put a lot of our efforts into it. »The L.A. Conservancy conducted an "Industrial L.A." tour many years ago, i thought it was after Northridge, and we walked through this Sparkletts building. It looked like it was being used at the time. Definitely work a drive by, even the exterior has some great details, including a tile mural over the door, and a great roof sign.

SurveyLA Northeast Los Angeles Community Workshop May 24th


This free workshop will focus on the Northeast LA communities of Atwater Village, Cypress Park, Eagle Rock, El Sereno, Glassell Park, Highland Park, Lincoln Heights and Mt. Washington. It's a great way to find out more about the project, ask SurveyLA questions and make historic place suggestions. We hope to see you there!Thursday, May 24th, 2012
